Happy New Year's Eve!

Sorry for the lack of activity on the front page lately.  I can only promise you that a lot has actually been going on behind the scenes.  I periodically edit the Coming Soon post with status updates when projects are moving, so it's not all quiet here!

Over on the DMG production side, I hope everyone knows that eManga.com has recently gotten an enormous overhaul.  It's now easier than ever to find titles published under the DMG banner, or any of Digital Manga, Inc.'s other imprints.  You have the option of reading manga online, or downloading in any format for any ereader you might have.  By the by, you have from now until this Friday, January 4, 2013, to use the coupon code DMYC655 in order to receive 10% off your entire eManga order (one use per user).  If you're at a loss as what to use it on, might I humbly suggest one of our own titles which are Available Now? ;)

As a reminder to anybody with a Goodreads account, I'm the one who's been obsessively compiling shelves of all the fan-localized DMG titles in two lists:  One for BL titles, and one for general audience titles.  A Goodreads account is quite handy when you want to keep track of things you've read, things you want to read, things you've left reviews for, etc.

So, let's talk about New Year's resolutions. I've had a project percolating in the back of my mind for a while now, but I'd been waiting on the new eManga launch to see whether or not it'd be necessary.  And it seems it is.  I want to put together an index of DMG groups and their homepages.  It'll live over in the right sidebar there, and it'll probably be no more than a simple alphabetical list of groups with a link to their main page/blog, and maybe a banner if they want to include one.  So heads up to any group leaders who may be reading this - I'll probably be in touch soon to see if you want to be listed. :)

Behind the Scenes: Love Chemistry Lab

Love Chemistry Lab is by far, the smuttiest book we've worked on, and it might even be the smuttiest book I, personally, have read.  It was especially jarring because the other two books in the assigned bundle were positively chaste. ^^;

Upon rereading LCL, I realized that there's not much in the way of interesting trivia or references, so this post will focus more on localizer commentary and actual Behind the Scenes info on the production process.  Enjoy!

Love is Like a Hurricane PLUS, by Tokiya Shimazaki

eManga | Kindle | Nook | PDF | Goodreads

President Azuma, known for both his intelligence and attractiveness, fell in love at first sight with Mizuki Hasegawa. Mizuki Hasegawa wasn't very impressed with his courtship, from the first surprising fumbling he felt on the train on his way to school, to being told that he reminded Azuma of a dog he used to own. Azuma found himself with his hands full as Mizuki battled him every step of the way to no avail, and all too soon, the pair found themselves in the eye of a hurricane of love. ♥ Now a long established couple, the pair have matured a bit, and return in this sequel to the wildly popular original series. Everything is far from smooth sailing, however, as their love continues to encounter category 4 storms thanks to Mizuki's short temper and Azuma's own machinations. Can their love survive?

Behind the Scenes: Snow and Kisses

Of all the projects we've done so far, Snow and Kisses has definitely had the most tumultuous production process.  It seemed like one thing after another would come up and stall us or otherwise cause us no end of grief.  But against all odds, it's finally unleashed on the public, and the problem child has finally grown up and left home.  And like my child, I still love it despite all the trouble.

So, read on for trivia. :)

Release: Snow and Kisses finally available!!

After three months, Snow and Kisses is finally finally available!  This project gave us no end of grief, but it's grown on me so much because of its sweetness.  Highly recommended for fans of fluff and barely-there BL.  A post with preview pages will be coming soon, but if you can't wait, Amazon's preview will allow you to read the entire first chapter. :)

Yes It's Me, by Tomoko Yamashita

eManga | Kindle | Nook | PDF | Goodreads

Touma suspects that his long-time friend and business partner Enoki might have a crush on him. Though honestly, who wouldn't fall in love with someone so gorgeous? But when Enoki accuses Touma of being the one with the crush, Touma doesn't know what to think! After all, how could Touma have room in his heart for another when he's already so madly in love with himself?

Tomoko Yamashita presents a collection far removed from the norms of the Boys’ Love genre. These seven atypical stories are filled with drama, tension, and above all, an uncommon wit.

Behind the Scenes: Climb on to My Shoulders

Today we'll be taking a look at the massive amounts of old-school geeky fun that can be found in Yuhki Takada's Climb on to My Shoulders.  Everything, from the setting to the characters, is a reference to some of the biggest names from the early days of the IT industry.

Credit where it's due: much of this post was contributed by the editor, Sinister Queien.  As a Washington native, she knows what she's talking about. :)

Climb on to My Shoulders, by Yuhki Takada

Trey and Paul are up-and-coming programmers with their minds set on fame and fortune! However, they need to actually finish writing a program first. The two decide to make a program that can play tic-tac-toe, but all their hard work is destroyed by the clueless yet smooth-talking MJ. In spite of their rough first meeting, MJ turns out to actually be useful to Trey and Paul. He even manages to land them the intimidating job of making class-scheduling software!
Misadventures and romantic tension abound in this adorable comedy that’s set in the 1960s!

Behind the Scenes: I'm the Big Brother

Welcome to our inaugural Behind the Scenes post!  The first manga we're going to take a look at is Kei Kanai's I'm the Big Brother, which became available on various platforms in January 2012.  The purpose of this post is to be a sort of a "Did you know...?"  I'll be sharing some bonus content that didn't make it into the book, and explaining some of the interesting references within.

I'm the Big Brother, by Kei Kanai

eManga | Kindle | NookPDF | Goodreads
Behind the Scenes

Nao has taken care of his two younger twin br
others, Tetsuto and Asuma, for as long as he can remember. Thanks to his care and affection, they’ve grown up into two fine gentlemen who are now super popular at school. However, they’re both totally obsessed with their big brother! The two constantly vie for the innocent and oblivious Nao’s attention. Their competition goes into high gear during the school field day. With Nao as the prize, neither Tetsuto nor Asuma can afford to lose! Also included is the short story In the Soup, where the amazing cook Wataru realizes that he may not know as much about food as he thinks he does.

Coming soon: Trivia Posts!

I've been working on a little something special for this blog lately.  We realized recently that a lot of our previous releases made sneaky little references to certain people or things, and thought it'd be fun to put together some trivia pages to collect all those interesting little tidbits.  If you've read Climb on to My Shoulders, I'll bet you already have a fair idea of what sort of information might be listed.  That book was a great homage to many of the tech industry's biggest names. ;)  Stay tuned for the first post, coming soon!

Release: Nazuna Sensei & Kanda Kun on Kindle, Nook, and eManga!

Our second release from Yuhki Takada (Climb on to My Shoulders) is now available on Kindle and Nook!
Update: eManga version now available!

Kanda is a normal grad student working on his Master’s degree. At the start of the new school year, his ceiling collapses and dozens of computers, two cats, and a strange man suddenly drop into his apartment. Even more startling, this quirky, childish, and disorganized man is Nazuna-sensei, a teacher at his school! Their unique situation forces the two of them to live together until the ceiling can be repaired. Kanda is annoyed that he’s forced to live with a stranger…but can’t quite bring himself to hate it. Nazuna Sensei & Kanda Kun follows a teacher who only notices computers and cats, and a student who's noticing him.

This is light and fluffy fare, similar to COTMS, and great for introducing someone to BL.  And the cats are a riot.  Seriously. :)

First post: Welcome to Sinister Hands!

Hello everyone, and welcome to the first official post of the new blog!  I'm the group representative and typesetter for Sinister Hands.  You can call me Sarah. :)

We're a little late with the blog bandwagon, so two of our titles are already out (click Available Now!), and the third is on its way.  Check the Coming Soon page, since that has the synopsis up for Nazuna Sensei & Kanda Kun.  (First time that synopsis appears online!  Does it intrigue you?  Hope so!)

I'm still trying to get this blogging thing down... I have a few more ideas for extra goodies I can share, but what do you guys want to see?  I'm taking suggestions. :)
